Delftské dlaždice/Delft Tiles

 Delftské dlaždice jsou inspirované čínským porcelánem a vyráběly se hlavně ve městě Delft v dnešním Nizozemsku. Technicky se jedná o fajáns, inspirovanou porcelánovými výrobky, které do Nizozemí dovážela Východoindická společnost. Výroba zažívala největší rozkvět v polovině 17. století. Po roce 1620 se do Evropy přestal dovážet tolik ceněný čínský porcelán, a začal tak být cíleně napodobován. Nešlo zatím o zvládnutí technologie výroby porcelánu - výrobky byly pořád technologicky fajáns, ale provedení dekoru a technika glazurování dokázala vzhledově čínská porcelán napodobit. Už předtím byla však delftská fajáns oblíbená u všech, kteří si opravdový porcelán nemohli dovolit.

 Delftské dlažky jsou teď aktuální designovou výzvou na Spoonfloweru. Nechtěla jsem, aby výsledný vzor příliš připomínal azulejos a tak místo květin využila motiv zimních chatiček a dala koní. 

Návrh tapety je vytvořen kombinací akvarelu a kresby štětcovým perem v tradiční modrobílé barevnosti. 

 Delftware originated from today's Netherlands. Delft was not the only centre of making this type of faience, but it was the most influencing and important. The origin of the blue and white faince inspired by the chinese porcelaine is dated back to the year 1600 when certain Italian gentleman experimented with this craft in Antwerp.  Later in the begginning of 17th century Delftware became the option for the people who admired porcelaine imported from China but could not afford to buy it. After the year 1620 when the delivery of the chinese porcelain to Europe was stopped, the Delft's craftsmen started to emulate the look of this precious items in a heavy way These products were technically still faience but they resembled the highly-priced chinese porcelain. 

Delfts tiles are the the current Spoonflower Design Challenge and I had quite a trouble with that design. I did not want the design to resemble azulejos tile too much, so I finally opted for the little winter cottages and dala horses to assembly it. 

  This design combine watercolour and drawing techniques. It comes in traditiona blue and white colour combination.
